Black Diamond Helio Recon 105 Skis 2021

The new Black Diamond Helio Recon 105 Skis add a little weight and significant power and stability to last season's Helio 105 Carbon. The Balsa/Flax core is replaced with one of light Poplar and the mostly carbon layup with pre-preg fiberglass, but the weight is still reasonable and the ski performs better in the variable conditions that are all too common in the backcountry.

Laminates

Pre-Preg FiberglassHigh-strength E-Glass fiber is oriented along multiple axes and optimized to provide a smooth and consistent flex profile, longitudinal strength, and torsional stiffness. Toughened epoxy resin is added in precise quantities prior to ski manufacturing to ensure precise weight and consistent quality. This layup is engineered to minimize weight for uphill missions without sacrificing durability or downhill ski performance.

Sidewalls

ABS Sidewalls

Sidewall Damping SystemTo bring the dampness of a freeride ski to a lightweight backcountry construction, Black Diamond employed a layer of rubber in the sidewalls of the ski slightly behind the contact point. This innovative construction greatly reduces chatter in firmer conditions and allows BD to forgo the use of metal in the layup.

Base

Sintered Graphite Base

Binding Compatibility

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings 2019

As you develop as a skier, pushing harder and skiing faster, you find out that pre-release can be just as dangerous as failure to release. Performance, light weight, and reliability are what have made the Griffon evo's most popular alpine binding over the years and the new Marker Griffon 13 ID Ski Bindings maintain that tradition. The Griffon ID introduces a new AFD (Anti-Friction Device) with a greater adjustment range, meant to function equally well with either Alpine ISO 5355 or Touring ISO 9523 soles.

Toe Piece

Triple Pivot Elite ToeToe construction with impressive retention when freeriding. The spring in the toe is inserted horizontally and with a sole plate inclined by 5° it provides the highest energy absorption so as to reduce the risk of early release. The large supporting surface optimizes the power transmission and allows for great stresses and strains. In relation to their weight, toes with this technology therefore achieve a never-seen-before performance.

AFD Gliding PlateAll Marker bindings (except the Jester Pro) are equipped with a moveable AFD (Anti Friction Device), allowing a precise release unhindered by dirt, snow, and ice buildup. The type of AFD is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality from racing to junior and even alpine touring.

Sole.IDMarker Sole.ID allows Marker Authorized Retailers to adjust Sole ID equipped bindings to every type of adult ski boot sole, from ISO 5355 Alpine to ISO 9523 Touring, with a height adjustable gliding plate (AFD).

Heel Piece

Inter Pivot HeelThe stunning heel construction delivers superior holding power for freeriding. The Inter Pivot Heel directs the power forces in the angle of elasticity improving the holding power and reducing pre-releases.
